Wheelsong Ambassadors

In collaboration with Invisible Poets, Wheelsong Books continues to appoint leading members of the poetry community as Brand Ambassadors to represent its activities at international level. 

Each ambassador proactively operates within their own country/region, promoting Wheelsong products and publicizing its humantiarian mission of #PoetryAgainstPoverty, through contact with local groups, through social media, video and by other means. 

The Ambassador team is passionate about caring for those who are vulnerable in society, and will devote all their efforts and energy to promoting Wheelsong's humanitarian aims: to raise funds for disadvantaged children everywhere. 

The Wheelsong Ambassadors also act as the governing oversight board to which the company is accountable.  

We are seeking ambassadors worldwide who are energetic, passionate and creative to step into similar volunteer roles and extend our #PoetryAgainstPoverty mission. If you think you might be a strong candidate, we would like to hear from you. Please email wheelsong1@gmail.com to apply. 

Steve lives in Plymouth on the beautiful South West coast of England. A former university professor, and now retired, Steve  devotes his time and energy to extending the global reach of Wheelsong Books.  Wheelsong is more than a publishing company. It represents a humanitarian mission. All of the profits of the company are donated to the international relief charity Save the Children. 

In the 90s Steve was a performance poet, and has now returned to his roots. He has published several of his own poetry collections including My Little Eye (2021), The Infinite NOW (2024) and eXp (2025). He has also published a text book titled Creative Deviance: How to Become an Experimental Poet (2025). 

In partnership with poet Charlene Phare, Steve established the Invisible Poets Facebook group in February 2023.

Steve is a musician, a member of the Performing Right Society and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Matt Elmore is well known in the poetry community. The author of two collections, Constellation Road (2022) and Average Angel (2024), Matt is notorious for his high energy performances and machine gun delivery. His poetry is dynamic, resonating through internal rhyming, clever wordplay and rythmic flow.   

Beyond the books, however, Matt has become recognised for the energy and enthusiasm with which he supports his fellow poets, and by the way he selflessly serves the entire Invisible Poets and Wheelsong community.

Born in Ilinois, and raised in Texas, Matt now resides in Kentucky, and has been a Wheelsong Books Ambassador since 2023, representing us across the United States. 

He regulary performs his poetry live and can be seen regularly reading from Wheelsong books and from members' poetry in a variety of online poetry groups. 

Matt has a passion for poetry, and is truly committed to Wheelsong's humanitarian mission of #PoetryAgainstPoverty

Charlene Phare is co-founder of Invisible Poets alongside Steve Wheeler. She lives in Devon, South West England, and is a prolific poet. She is also the founder of the Pure Poetry Facebook group, as well as having served as a Wheelsong Books ambassador fof the United Kingdom between 2023-2026. 

Her most recent poetry publication, Cobalt Skies (2023) is a beautiful collection of idyllic poetry about nature, love and loss. She has co-edited several Wheelsong Poetry Anthologies.

As Ambassador Emerita, Charlene remains an important pillar of our poetry community, offering a wealth of knowledge about the UK poetry scene and tremendous inspiration and encouragement to young poets everywhere. 

Her popular No Holds Bard show was watched by thousands during its several years online. 

Loris Loren is from Cramlington in North East England. He writes in a stream of consciousness style, channelling thoughts and feelings into an eclectic range of work. From poems such as 'Britain' to 'Nostalgia', he enjoys taking thoughts and transforming them through ink. 

He says: "Writing for me is not just a way to express the self, but to exist beyond it. To eternalise that self in ways which act, not just a form of art, but an extension of ones being. This means I take influence from the world around me. I am inspired by the people I have met, the moments I have experienced. 'You' are my inspiration, life is my inspiration. I am proud to be an ambassador for Wheelsong and Invisible Poets, it's a privilege to be granted this opportunity." 

"The whole mission #PoetryAgainstPoverty and aligning ourselves with Save the Children is something I support wholeheartedly, and will do my utmost to promote and raise awareness and support for. During my time as an ambassador, I hope to be a beacon of support to my peers, and wider community, under the Wheelsong and Invisible Poets banners. I hope to represent everything we stand for to the best of my abilities, and in turn develop myself as not just a writer, but a human being. Humanity is humanity's greatest strength."

Tara Lucy Hicks was born in South Africa, and has now returned there to live with her family after 22 years of exploring the world. Tara is a prolific poet and loves writing humerous and experimental poetry. 

She says: "As Wheelsong Books’ brand ambassador for South Africa I intend to see how far this incredible poetic adventure can take us (you and me). I’m inspired by experiences and the people I meet, as well as the artistic influences of other authors, like Shel Silverstein, A.A.Milne and Robert Frost." 

"The ideals of Star Trek and my fellow Invisible Poets all get my gears turning…and nature! My own poetry is very much experimental at the moment, because there is so much to play with." 

"I write because I NEED a creative outlet to occupy my mind (any time, any place) that allows me to truly connect with others. I have chosen the communities created by  Wheelsong Books, because we truly collaborate, share, debate and provide constructive feedback." 

"We also give invisible poets a platform to grow, exposure and, most importantly, every cent of proceeds goes to support the charitable efforts of an effective non-profit: Save The Children."

Linda Adelia Powers lives on the outskirts of Richmond, Virginia. She taught philosophy at the University of Richmond for many years as an adjunct professor, where her interests focused on ordinary language philosophy, ethics and aesthetics. Always drawn to painting and sculpture, she has maintained several studios and has exhibited in numerous shows. 

She has written and performed poetry since high school and in college was selected Poet of the Month by the Book of the Month Club. Her poems have appeared in several anthologies published by Wheelsong Books. Two years of solo travel after graduate school in Africa, Europe, and overland to India have enduringly influenced her worldview and art. 

She was co-editor of Wheelsong Poetry Anthology 8 (2026) and her debut collection of poetry, BLINK, was published by Wheelsong in 2025. 

Gregory Richard Barden was raised in the rural town of Gorham, ME, USA. At a young age he showed a spark for music and writing and is a self-taught multiple instrumentalist. Writing poetry came much later in life as a discreet endeavor used for personal joumaling and recovery, but soon blossomed into a serious pursuit. 

He found that others enjoyed his unusual style and creative imagery, presented from both classic and contemporary perspectives, and now works consistently to improve his art. His skill with words and phrases colors and piques the imagination of the reader, and pulls them into a world of compelling story, passionate expression, and introspective spirituality. 

Greg says: “I am so honored to be part of the Poetry Against Poverty mission - in my opinion there are few programs that compare in the world-wide poetry community today, that takes children in need so seriously, and uses poetry as a vehicle to ease their suffering, at the same time bringing the beauty of verse to the forefront of society again. I was blessed to be approached by a publisher for my poetry, when the majority of poets these days are forced to self-publish, so being a part of this amazing project is the least I can do as a way to give a bit back and say ‘thank you’. 

Children are our greatest, most precious resource - they are our future and our treasure, and there is no greater cause than keeping them healthy and alive, and providing them with the very basic tools they need to remain that way. I’m so proud of this effort, and so blessed to be a part - it makes promoting our work in poetry that much more important and worthy of our best efforts. Poetry Against Poverty and Wheelsong Books are literally saving lives, and it is a joy to be helping out.”

Greg's first Wheelsong publication was a collection of poetry titled Melancholy Moon (2024). His new collection In the Shadow of the Moon will be published in 2026.
